Instrument clusters

Digital instrument clusters present an interesting set of challenges because they add rich graphics and complex software to safety-critical components. At Mitsubishi Electric, we provide a cost-effective architecture that shares a single processor across cluster, center stack, and passenger screens. We believe that this shared CPU design is best suited for the improved functionality of future cockpits and, with over 100 engineers certified in functional safety processes, we ensure any safety critical functionality is properly isolated and protected in virtualized containers. With a wide variety of supported HMI platforms – Qt for Automotive, Rightware Kanzi, Crank Storyboard, and more – our dashboards are beautiful and responsive, yet safety certifiable and reasonably priced.


Head-up displays

The popularity of built-in head-up displays (HUDs) in high-end cars grew 200% from 2009 to 2014 and all available data since points to accelerated growth. But building a really good HUD that works in all circumstances and is cost-effective is difficult to do; thankfully we have key strengths in display and safety technologies that work seamlessly together to help drivers improve situational comprehension with real-time information. We draw upon a wide portfolio of products from which to build low, mid, and high-end HUDs for all ranges of vehicles.
