Mitsubishi Electric is developing millimeter wave radar that can precisely detect objects ahead, under not only clear weather but also severe weather conditions. In addition, it can select a preceding vehicle, and calculate the information of the host vehicle's speed and yaw-rate and report its distance and relative speed. Therefore, this radar can be used for many driving support systems including Collision Avoidance Systems, ACC (Adaptive Cruise Control), and Automatic Driving Systems for Specialty Vehicles.
